Lumby and area is home of some of the finest artists in the
Okanagan Valley. To take in the vast collections of paintings, sculptures, crafts and Antique machinery we have organized a 2 day tour that will cover a good portion of what is offered in our area. This tour is a guideline and may be customized to satisfy your needs.
Day 1:
The Tour begins at the Lumby Info Center at 9:00 am. From there the Tour travels 30km to Landslide Studios, located along the
picturesque Shuswap River. Here visitors can view various forms of sculpture and artwork. (There is an opportunity to take classes here; however, they must be booked in advance, and time must be extended.)
The Tour returns to Lumby at approximately 12:30pm for a hearty lunch at one of our fine dining restaurants. After Lunch, tour participants have the opportunity to walk through Lumby's Sculpture Park, which showcases the talents of many local artist and
craftsmen.
At 2:30 pm, the Tour continues on into Cherryville. The Tour heads up North Fork Road, coming to Cherry Ridge Crafts & Bed and Breakfast. This quaint little shop is one of the most popular fabric stores in the area. Participants are invited to take a course from the owners in either wickerwork or quilting. While here, also be sure to take the time to watch the birds or sit back on the deck with a cup of java and just enjoy the peace and quiet of solitude.
From here, the Tour continues a few minutes up the road to Weeping Willow Creek, which is where we stop for the night. After all the miles the Tour has covered today, the authentic sweat lodge is a welcome treat. Dinner is served in the large dining room of the log house. After dinner, participants have some free time to explore the acreage, relax on the patio, or join in a health seminar given by your hosts.
Day 2:
The next morning a breakfast of fruit and muffins is served at 8:30 am, once again in the dining area. The Tour then continues on.
The next stop is the Monashee Woolen Mill, where participants will view various types of wool being cleaned, spun, and finished on antique machinery. There are also
numerous varieties of bats and comforters for sale on site.
At 11:00 am, the Tour stops for lunch at the Gold Panner Cafe. This authentic pioneer fare will "stick to your ribs"; so make sure you're hungry! After Lunch, take a few minutes to examine the antique machinery on site, and try your hand at gold panning.
About 1:30 pm, the Tour reaches Coyote Creek Studio. This Studio contains a number of attractions, including art walks, a gallery, and a sweat lodge.
The Tour returns to the Lumby Info Center at 3:30 pm.
Guides and transportation are available for a fee upon requests.
All other costs incurred are the responsibility of the Tour participant and are
varying depending on the activities chosen.
