Offering A
Unique Guided Fishing Experience
The Thompson/Okanagan region in
British Columbia is a fisherman's paradise and is renowned as prime fly-fishing
territory. More than one hundred lakes within this area offer some of the
world's most challenging still water fishing for the Kamloops rainbow trout. The
warm/dry climate of the area makes for a good water chemistry, resulting in very
productive lakes. These lakes host large, healthy trout and huge populations of
aquatic insects such as shrimp, dragonflys, damselflys, caddisflys, mayflys, and
chironomids.

Jason Webster, owner of
Troutward Bound Guiding Co., and former fishing guide of Jasper National Park,
has enjoyed fishing the many lakes of the Thompson/Okanagan for the last fifteen
years. As a fisheries technician, he has been involved with various fisheries
conservation projects with the BC Ministry of Environment. His knowledge of the
local fishery and the sport fishing industry is second to none.
The lakes & streams of the sunny Thompson / Okanagan provides superb fishing for a variety of fish species. The main attractions are the Rainbow Trout & Eastern Brook Char. The " Rainbows " are known for their aerial acrobatics once hooked, where as the " Brookies " are known for their hard takes and pulling strength. Rainbows up to 12 pounds & Brookies up to 8 pounds have been caught, although the average fish size is in the 1 to 3 pound range.
Other fishable species that reside in the area include : Perch, Pumpkinseed, Carp, Northern
Squawfish, Large & Small mouth Bass, Whitefish, Kokanee, & Salmon.
