The Thompson/Okanagan region in British Columbia is a fisherman's paradise and is renowned as prime fly-fishing territory. More than one hundred lakes within this area offer some of the world's most challenging still water fishing for the Kamloops rainbow trout. The warm/dry climate of the area makes for a good water chemistry, resulting in very productive lakes. These lakes host large, healthy trout and huge populations of aquatic insects such as shrimp, dragonflys, damselflys, caddisflys, mayflys, and chironomids.
